Mr. Peng Wang is a Ph.D. Candidate at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) Law School, P. R. China, and was a Silk Road Visiting Scholar at Cambridge University Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, UK and an intern at Energy Charter Secretariat, Brussels Belgium. Before starting his Ph.D. study, Mr. Wang got LL.M, LL.B, and a Joint B.A. in economics from XJTU. Mr. Wang is a regular speaker at both domestic and international conferences, including 4th Annual Conference of Cambridge Journal of International and Comparative Law (Cambridge, 2015), 4th Biennial Global Conference of Society of International Economic Law (Bern, 2014), Political Economy of International Investment Agreements (Bonn, 2014), International Astronautical Congress (Beijing, 2013 & Jerusalem, 2015), Chinese Society of International Economic Law Annual Meeting (Xi’an, 2013; Wuhan, 2014; Kunming, 2015), China Forum of Law and Economics (Chongqing, 2012 & Jinan, 2013), China Institutional Economics Annual Conference (Jinan, 2012), Chinese Society of International Law Annual Conference (Xi’an, 2012; Guangzhou, 2015; Changchun, 2016), Chinese Society of International Economic and Trade Law Annual Conference (Hangzhou, 2016). He has contributed academic journals, including Chinese Journal of Comparative Law, Transnational Dispute Management, Chinese Review of International Law, Wuhan University International Law Review, International Economics and Trade Research, Journal of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Journal of International Economic Law (China), Oversea Investment & Export Goods, Legal Daily, and also serves as a peer reviewer for International Review of Law (Qatar) and International Economics and Trade Research (China). He was an intern at Energy Charter Secretariat at Brussels, Belgium, working on research project on the compatibility of China’s municipal legal system with provisions of Energy Charter Treaty. He has participated in CASC Space Law Moot Court Competition (Best Organization Prize) and FDI Moot Court Asia-Pacific Round as a team leader while he is the founding team leader for XJTU School Rowing Team (Silver Award for Changan Wharf Cup Rowing Competition). Mr. Wang was awarded Annual Prize for Excellent Papers of Young Scholar by Chinese Society of International Law (2015), Chinese Society of International Economic Law (2015 & 2014) and Excellent Graduate Thesis in XJTU (2011), as well as several National Scholarships. Mr. Wang passed China Bar Examination and got the Judicial Professional Qualification Certificate. His current research interests include politics of international investment law, economics of international law and international adjudication, governance of global commons, and evolution of China's rural land institution.
